The current manufacturing plant of The Schazoo Pharmaceutical Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd was inaugurated in Year 2009. This purpose build plant is especially designed to comply with the standards of WHO, USFDA, Health Canada, EMEA, MHRA-UK, Singapore, UAE and other regulatory authorities of the world.
At present the company is manufacturing products under strict quality control and according to cGMP. The existing processes are designed to produce injectables, capsules, Tablets, Syrups, Dry powders, Suspensions, Eye Drops and Nasal sprays. Manufacturing facility is designed so as that personnel and material flow shall be completely separate. A Quality and Environmental management system is operating in the company. This system is working under a central Document Control which ensures that the relevant SOP’s are in use at all times.
Production
The equipment in production department is calibrated against international standards & routinely maintained under a special maintenance program. Latest machines and equipments are being used in each section with large outputs in order to meet the requirements of domestic and international markets.
Presently production is divided into five major sections
- Solid Section: Tablets and Capsules are being manufactured
- Liquid Section: Oral syrups & suspensions are being manufactured
- Injectable Section: Various kind of injectables including Psychotropics are manufactured here.
- Eye Drops Section: Eye drops and Nasal Sprays are being manufactured here
- Anti-Biotic Section: There is a separate area for the production of Beta lactam antibiotics
Each production section is completely separate right from production to packaging and finished products are supplied from each section to the Finished Goods store for sale in the market.
Research & Development
Schazoo has a well organized R & D department. There are set procedures and SOPs which are followed for the new product development and design. Product specification standards are finalized on the basis of existing environmental conditions and stability studies. Pre-formulation studies are conducted, analytical methods are developed and trial batches are produced before mass production. Accelerated Stability, comparative & Clinical studies are conducted to develop the safe and effective formulations. There is also a graphic design section within R & D department to develop the packaging materials of new products.
Quality Control
Schazoo’s corporate philosophy of “Total Quality Control” is to ensure total customer satisfaction. Schazoo’s products are thoroughly tested and approved by the company’s quality control and microbiological testing department. The quality control department is well equipped and run by qualified & experienced pharmacists and chemists.
Microbiological laboratories attached to quality control section provides facilities for bacteriological tests and investigations during the product development and production phases. Environmental control is carried out by microbiology and Q.C department in aseptic filling areas. The documentation and sampling procedures are scientifically based and professionally maintained at all stages of testing and approval.
Quality Assurance
Professional Pharmacists and chemists control quality assurance in Schazoo. They continuously validate the existing procedures. Quality assurance inspectors oversee the production and control areas. They plan and implement new procedures where required. In process quality control tests are carried out to ensure product quality. Quality assurance personnel collaborate with all departments in their efforts to achieve high quality standards.
